The East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) is a statutory body established in 2008 to spearhead the socio-economic development of the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) in Malaysia. The ECER encompasses the states of Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, and the district of Mersing and Segamat in Johor. The council’s primary mission is to transform the ECER into a vibrant, competitive, and sustainable region by 2025.

ECERDC focuses on key economic sectors such as manufacturing, agribusiness, tourism, oil, gas, and petrochemicals, as well as human capital development. By leveraging the region’s natural resources and strategic location, ECERDC aims to attract domestic and foreign investments, create job opportunities, and enhance the quality of life for the local population.
