The Halal Management Department of the Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the compliance of food products, services, and businesses with Islamic dietary laws in Selangor, Malaysia. This department plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of halal certification processes, ensuring that all products and services labeled as halal meet the stringent standards set by Islamic law.

The department’s duties include conducting inspections, audits, and investigations of food production facilities, restaurants, and other businesses to verify their adherence to halal guidelines. They also work closely with various stakeholders, including local authorities, industry players, and religious scholars, to develop and enforce regulations that align with Islamic principles. Additionally, the Halal Management Department provides education and awareness programs for the public and businesses, helping them understand the importance of halal compliance and how to achieve it.

By ensuring that halal products and services are genuinely in line with Islamic teachings, the department not only upholds religious standards but also supports the broader halal industry, which is a significant part of the economy in Selangor and beyond.
