The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) established on September 30, 1965 under Act 141 is a marketing agency under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. FAMA is responsible for the marketing of agro-food products such as vegetables, fruits and flowers as well as food industry and agricultural products.
In order to drive the domestic and international marketing sector, FAMA plays a role in expanding the market size of agro-food products and increasing producer income. FAMA also plays a role in ensuring that agricultural and food industry products are available and obtainable at prices that consumers can afford.
