MINTRED Sarawak, the Ministry of International Trade, Industry, and Investment, has played a pivotal role in driving economic growth and supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Sarawak. Over the years, it has evolved from its initial establishment in 1987 to its current form, reflecting its expanding focus on international trade and investment.

MINTRED’s vision is to position Sarawak as a preferred investment destination and trading partner, with a mission to drive industrial and SME growth through effective facilitation, coordination, and support. Key programs include financial aid, capacity development, and product promotion to empower SMEs.

To date, MINTRED has supported over 36,000 entrepreneurs through SME initiatives. The initiatives also provide financial assistance and grants to SMEs and individuals, particularly those in the B40 income group, to enhance business operations and explore digital opportunities. Expositions and product promotion are also integral to MINTRED’s strategy. For instance, Showcase Usahawan Sarawak (SUS) is a platform for promoting local products, highlighting Sarawak’s commitment to supporting its entrepreneurs amidst economic challenges.
